IP Rights

We like cool stuff. We also like not getting sued. 🤘

SkiBoozie lets users upload designs and images to create and remix products. Uploading an image does not mean you own it, or that SkiBoozie has determined you have the right to use it. Please only upload content you have permission to use.

How It Works

We don't sell your designs directly unless you elect to allow us to consider it for the 'featured' section. When we feature a design, we may research whether the artwork appears to use open-source, licensed, or otherwise permitted material, and we will not feature it if we're unsure we have the right to use it.

We don't automatically block every image that might be copyrighted. However, before we manufacture a product, we run submitted artwork through our IP screening system. This includes databases containing brands and artwork submitted to us, as well as a list of brands and rights holders whose intellectual property we know may not be available for this kind of use.

A good example of this is any design featuring intellectual property by The Grateful Dead who, despite putting their logo on virtually everything, are extremely proactive at preventing others from doing the same without paying them a licensing fee. Try uploading a Grateful Dead-inspired design to another site like TeeFury or RedBubble and you'll see what we mean.

If our screening indicates that we can't reasonably manufacture your product, we won't print it and you'll receive a full refund. Hopefully no hard feelings though, we'd rather catch it before the printer starts melting plastic.

What about Fair-Use?

Fair use is a real thing, but it's not a magic “I'm allowed to print this” button. In the U.S., whether something qualifies as fair use depends on the specific circumstances, including things like how the work is being used, whether the use is transformative, and its effect on the original work's market.

We don't make legal determinations about fair use for you. If our screening flags an image, we may decline to manufacture it even if you believe your use qualifies as fair use. If that happens, you'll receive a full refund and can take your argument to the Supreme Court. 😉

Things We Just Won't Print

We reserve the right to reject any design that promotes hate-speech, violence, racism, or anything derrogatory towards a marginalized group (yes, this includes Jerry).

Want your brand on the No-Print List?

If you're a brand or rights holder and would like to request that your intellectual property not be manufactured through SkiBoozie, you can submit a request below. This flags it as high-priority in our database so it'll catch things like parodies, remixes and other use which is a bit harder to quantify.
